There was a time when the only Keurig® brewer cup size was eighth ounces. Not too big, not too small – fully satisfying no one. Some of us like to sip a small, strong cup of coffee. Others demand to gulp the largest mug filled to the brim. Thanks to a variety of Keurig® cup sizes we all win. In this article, we will explain Keurig® cup sizes. To select a specific cup size on most brewers, you have to press the Keurig® cup size buttons. It may be a digital button on the display screen or a physical one on the brewer top. The first model we tried many years ago had one lonely button. There are now up to five, depending on the model, ranging from 4 – 12 ounces.
First, let’s clarify what we mean by cup size. Keurig® cup sizes are in ounces. As in, how many ounces of water are dispensed from the reservoir. The more water, the fuller the cup and the thinner (weaker) the coffee. Less water will give you a shorter cup and a thicker (stronger) coffee. Some units have three size options others have five.

The chart below compares the cup sizes on the coffee makers available at the time of this writing. The K-Supreme® and K-Elite® offer the most options. However, the K-Mini® does not have a water reservoir. You have to fill it each time you brew. Which means, you can choose to add as little or as much water as you like. Essentially, you can make any size you want with the K-Mini® coffee maker.

The coffee maker technology and K-Cup® pods have expanded over time. For example, the K-Cafe® now comes with a milk frother. You will likely use a smaller cup size to get a stronger brew for a cappuccino or latte with that model. The same applies to iced coffees. But, extra bold and dark roast K-Cup® pods have grown in popularity. You are likely to choose a larger amount of water to prepare those roasts. Keurig® is and always will be about your perfect cup. It is the founding principle and one they have stuck to for over a decade!
